Iype Varghese’s eldest son, Iype was born in 1904. He was a perfect Gandhian and patriot from his childhood. He only wore Khader clothes. He participated in the freedom struggle, secretly and openly. It was in recognition of this, that five acres of land was given to him as a gift, when Pattom was the Chief Minister. It was difficult to go and cultivate at this place, as it was in the dense forest in the high range. So that land was occupied by others. Indian freedom fighter Iype, was present in the law violation meeting which resulted in the Puthuppally shooting. In recognition of all these, he received a letter of appreciation from the Indian National Congress in 1985. He also rendered commendable service in the field of co-operation. He was a long time member in the Board of Directors of Puthuppally Village Service Co-operative bank. He also served as its Vice President. He also showed a great interest in church matters. He married Vakathanam Pathiyapallil Kuriachen’s daughter Aleyamma. They lived in the Kallarackal family house. They had sons, Varghese, Kurian, John, Jacob, Philippose, Isan and a daughter Kunjumol.
