Fr.K.V.Philippose (Achan, 7)

Iype Varghese’s second son, Philippose was born on the 20^th April 1919. When Philippose was a child itself, his father presented him to God for priestly ministry. Therefore, Philippose was called by the pseudonym ‘Achan’, even before he was ordained as a priest. After his primary education, he received priesthood training. He received priesthood from Michael Mar Divanasios Metropolitan, who had the patronage of His Holiness, Elias III, the Patriarch of Antioch. Philippose Achan was a perfect church lover and God devotee, who was not ready to make any compromise in his devotion to the patriarchal throne. He served as the permanent Vicar of Ericadu St. Mary’s Jacobite church and Ullayam St. George Jacobite church. He was also Asst. Vicar in some other churches of Kottayam diocese. He married Aymanam Kandamundaril Saramma. They had sons, Varghese, Cheriyan, Joseph & daughters Thankamma, Elsy, Jessy and Susan. Philippose Achan died on 6^th October 1988 at the age of 69. Saramma died on 22^nd February 2006. Both were cremated at Ericadu St. Mary’s Jacobite church.
