Jacob Abraham (Kunjappan, 7)

Varghese Jacob’s eldest son, Jacob Abraham had completed high school education and accountancy. He then worked as the manager of the Kottayam and Erattupetta branches of Alliance bank. After resigning from the bank due to personal reasons, he started his own private bank and jewellery. These institutions, which were doing very well had to be shut down, when the government introduced new financial laws. He was very interested in music. Abraham, who diligently participated in church activities was also a good gospel preacher. He actively involved in the activities of abstinence movement. He also served as the trustee of Ericadu St. Mary’s Jacobite church. Abraham, who had conversational ingenuity was a perfect family man. He married Kottayam Varikkattu Chakkalaparambil Abraham’s daughter Sosamma (Pennamma). They had sons, Jacob, Abraham, Varghese and daughters, Akkamma (Thankamma) and Susan (Molly). Abraham died on 9^th May 1970 at the age of 66. Sosamma died on 11^th April 1985 at the age of 81. Both were cremated at Ericadu St.Mary’s Jacobite church.
