K.J.Iype (Kunjappan, 7)

Iype Yohannan’s eldest son, Iype after completing his matriculation studies settled in Ullayam. He was a good planter. Like his father, he also paid special attention in the supervision of educational institutions and in the completion of Ullayam Marthoma church. He served as the Vice President and Trustee of the church for a long time. He was the first president of Vazhoor Grama Panchayath. Due to his efforts, many roads were built in that area. An Upper Primary school was established under his management. He took a strong stand against the caste untouchabilities that existed in Ullayam area at that time. He took initiative in establishing the Vazhoor Block Development office near Ullayam. He promptly did daily diary writing and account book preparation. He was a father who loved his children and grandchildren very much and took special care to bring them up in God’s trust and guided them through the right path. He took a keen interest in his children’s education and therefore all of them earned post-graduate degrees. He was a man of deep faith in God, deep love of humanity and perfect hard work. He married Kottayam Varikattu Valavuchirackal Itty Avara’s daughter Akkamma. They had sons, John, Abraham, Baby & daughters, Thankamma and Aleyamma (Kunjamma). Iype passed away on 5^th July 1991 at the age of 90 and Akkamma passed away on 18^th May 1984 at the age of 82. Both were cremated at Ericadu Moria Marthoma church. A cash award has been instituted in the name of Iype, to the student in Puthenpurackal family who secures maximum marks in the S.S.L.C.  examination.
