K.J.Jacob Sr (Pilla, 7)

Varghese Jacob’s youngest son Jacob (Sr) was born on the 10^th May 1908. After his primary education, he was an employee in the famous Swaraj Motor company in Kottayam. Later, he started his own bus service. He was a good farmer. Jacob, who was soft spoken, kept a good relationship with his family members. He married Mallappally Kayyalathu Itty Iype’s daughter Rebecca (Kunjunjamma). Rebecca was skilled in the art of cooking. They stayed at the Karuvallil family house. They had a son named Jacob and daughters, Ammal, Susy, Rajamma and Elsy (Kunjumol). Jacob died on 9^th April 1983 at the age of 75. Rebecca died on 11^th March 1997 at the age of 82. Both were cremated at Ericadu St. Mary’s Jacobite church.
