The second son of Philippose Kathanar, Koshi was born in Malayalam era 1051 (1875-76). He was a big farmer. Koshi, who was mighty and healthy, went to Anickad for farming and set up a press for processing sugarcane, by himself. He was also very obsessed with hunting. Thrikkothamangalam Pottackkavayalil Aadamma, was his wife. In this marriage, a son named Philippose and a daughter named Rebecca were born. Andamma died on 13th July 1904, when they were still children. After that Koshi married Akkamma, daughter of Veloor Cherukara Mani. In the second marriage, there was a son named George and daughters named Mariamma and Saramma. After living in the family house, Koshi and Akkamma, along with their children, moved to a house on the south side of the Valiyamannil homestead. Koshi died of fever, on 7th November 1930 at the age of 55.
