Pothan Pothan Sr (Kunjappan, 7)

Pothan Pothan Sr, the 2nd son of Kaithayil Varghese Pothan and the 3rd son of Kaithayil Pothan Kuruvilla, K.K. Abraham moved to the Pappalaparambil homestead. It is their descendants that belong to the Pappalaparambil Sub-branch. Pothan Pothan Sr bought his own land in Pampanar and started farming. One cattle rearing center was also established there. He married Unnichiamma of the Kottayam Panampunnayil Thondukuzhiyil family. They had sons, Pothan, Chacko & daughters Innamma and Mariakutty. Both the daughters died of pneumonia at an young age. Pothan passed away in 1935 at the age of 40. Even though Pothan joined the Marthoma church, he was cremated in Puthuppally Valiyapally like his fathers. Unnichiamma also has passed away.
