Varghese Jacob (Pachan, 6)

Pothan Varghese’s third son, Jacob settled in the Karuvallil homestead. It is his descendants that belong to the Karuvallil Sub-branch. Jacob after passing his matriculation did not accept any jobs. Rather he engaged in family and agriculture activities as per his father’s wish. He was an art lover who showed great interest in Drama, Kathakali and Margamkali. He was a long lived and vigorous father. He married Manjathuruthel Vazheparambil Avarachen’s daughter Akkamma. They had sons, Abraham, Varghese, Jacob, and daughters Sosamma (Kunjupenn), Rebecca (Erppukkamma), Aleyamma (Elimma), Mariamma (Kunjumariamma) and Akkamma (Kunjakkamma). Jacob passed away on 14^th March 1953 at the age of 84 and Akkamma passed away on 17th August 1947 at the age of 74. Both were cremated at Ericadu St. Mary’s Jacobite church.
