Varghese Jacob (Pachan, 6)

Pothan Varghese’s third son, Jacob settled, in the Karuvallil homestead. It is his descendants that belong to the Karuvallil Sub-branch. Jacob was born on the 25^th March 1869. After passing his matriculation, he did not accept jobs and engaged in family activities and agriculture, as per his father’s wish. He was an art lover, showed great interest in drama, kathakali and margamkali. He was a long lived and vigorous father. He married Manjathuruthel Vazheparambil Avarachen’s daughter Akkamma. They had sons, Abraham, Varghese, Jacob, and daughters Sosamma (Kunjupenn), Rebecca (Erppukkamma), Aleyamma (Elimma), Mariamma (Kunjumariamma) and Akkamma (Kunjakkamma). Jacob died on 14^th March 1953 at the age of 84. Akkamma passed away on August 17, 1947 at the age of 74. Both were cremated at Ericadu St. Mary’s Jacobite church.
